PHPBB3 Post to Blog
( 0 Votes )
This module allows you to export topics from your PHPBB3 forum, to a blog like format for your Joomla Website.
Now this module comes in English and Russian! Thank you Denis for the Russian port. =)
INCOMPATIBILITY NOTE: After helping a user troubleshoot his site to find out why the codes were not working properly, we found that the plugin "System - SEF" is incompatible. SEF stands for Search Engine Friendly. This means that you need to disable it to make this script work. If you wish to have search engine friendly URLs still available to you, you can experiment with different 3rd party plugins on this website. If you find one that works, I'd like to know so that I can update this notice.
Features:
1.) Custom forum codes supported! (Smiles are parsed and all post links open in new tabs (Can be changed)) Just simply edit 1 file.
2.) 334 Social bookmark and network sites for users to choose from to post a link back to your blog! This feature uses the Add This.com button code. Add This.com is free to sign up with. You can track how many people used the links on your Add This.com account as well. Just input your publisher ID in the admin area and you're good to go.
3.) Virtually every part of this module's layout is customizable! You can hide most parts of the module, change if links should open in a new window or not, and more! (See the screenshot for all available settings.)
4.) Can pull from multiple forums (The selected forum's topics will display as a blog and the other forums will show as categories to select from.)
5.) Category list for forums can be set to either the left or right side of the blog and will show how many topics there are.
6.) Author usernames can be translated to their real name (This requires a custom profile field to be created in PHPBB3 and the module notified of what the custom profile field's name is. If the user didn't add their name, then it will show the author's username.)
7.) Optional comments link after each blog post (Shows how many replies there are on that topic)
8.) Optional topic icons next to the topic title
9.) Optional permalinks (This helps users send a link to a post through the use of links to a part of the page.)
10.) Customizable paging (Admin can set how many topics to show per page or allow them all to show.)
11.) Time and date are converted to GMT and then the user's timezone settings or the server timezone (for guests) are then used to show the correct time and date of the topic.
12.) Link back at the bottom may be removed in the admin area.
13.) Included Installation.txt shows you how to get your module showing in the main part of the website and more.
14.) Russian and English Language translations included. (Thanks Dennis!)
15.) Better forum links
16.) Separate of show Author`s name and date of post. Now you can choose only one or both of them.
17.) Now available for Joomla 1.7
