pcmag.comGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy—The Definitive Edition arrives on Nov. 11, but it won’t be cheap. On Friday, Rockstar Games announced the remaster will cost $59.99, which might seem a bit hefty for a 20th anniversary remaster. But on the plus side, the developer has updated the three games with modern visuals that make the characters and background colors pop. Rockstar Games previewed the new looks in a trailer that shows before-and-after shots, comparing the games’ original sprites with the updated graphics. For the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, buyers will be able to play the games with up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. Expect a “rebuilt lighting system,” improved shadows, reflections and weather effects, plus upgraded character and vehicle models.  The remaster also “introduces wide-ranging modern control upgrades, including improvements to targeting and lock-on aiming, updated Weapon and Radio Station Wheels, updated Mini-Maps with enhanced navigation allowing players to set waypoints to destinations,” the developer adds. Rockstar Games has also customized the games for the Nintendo Switch and the more powerful graphic processing capabilities on a PC. “The Nintendo Switch version also features Switch-specific controls including Gyro aiming, as well as touch-screen camera zooming, pans, and menu selections, while the PC version includes support for Nvidia DLSS and additional new Accomplishments via the Rockstar Games Social Club,” the company says. The trilogy will let players revisit Grand Theft Auto III, and its two follow-ups, Vice City and San Andreas. Pre-orders for the product are already available across various platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch. However, it seems the trilogy won’t arrive for the PS4 and Xbox One until Dec. 7, when physical copies of the games will also be made available. The PC version of the game will arrive via the Rockstar Games launcher.
