But the best gaming experience requires powerful hardware, so Nvidia is making a much-hyped appearance in Cologne, Germany, today for a press conference that's expected to include the launch of new graphics cards. We are expecting to see new gaming graphics cards based on Nvidia's Turing architecture, which surfaced in the first Nvidia Quadro RTX cards announced at SIGGRAPH last week. Leaks suggest we'll see the new RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080. As Forbes reports, the the GTX 1080 Ti will boost its CUDA cores from 3,584 to 4,352, up 21 percent. The RTX 2080 will jump from 2,560 to 2,944 CUDA cores, up 15 percent. If true, this will be the biggest PC gaming graphics news since 2016. We'll have to wait until 9 a.m. PT / noon ET to see what Nvidia has up its sleeve. That's when President and CEO Jensen Huang takes the stage for a presentation that Nvidia says "will be loaded with exclusive, hands-on demos running on the hottest upcoming games, presentations from some of the world's biggest game developers and some spectacular surprises."
