If you depend on Intel's integrated graphics to run your games, you'll now have a new way to configure the settings to best suit your PC. With the company expanding into dedicated graphics cards, Intel has released a redesigned control panel for Windows 10 that can automatically optimise PC games with the company's GPU technology. The tool, called the Intel Graphics Command Center, is now available on the Microsoft Store as an early-access, free application. It essentially takes the old Intel graphics control panel and overhauls the interface and options, making the software easier to understand and use. The app will be helpful to PC users who rely on the built-in graphics onboard Intel chips to run their games. With one click, the Command Center app can configure a game's graphics settings to get the best performance based on your PC's technical specs. Intel told PCMag the optimisation recommendations are based on input from a team of company gamers, who will test different titles, using different PC configurations. However, the app can also let you manually configure the individual settings for each game on your own. Helpful info boxes will explain the technical jargon, such as anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, and how they affect the game's overall performance. Unfortunately, the app only supports Intel Core chips from the 6th generation (launched in August 2015) and up. Another downside is how it only supports 30 games. But Intel plans on increasing the catalog quickly, especially since the Command Center will play a larger role once Intel's dedicated graphics cards launch in 2020. Rival vendor, Nvidia, also has a graphics control panel app called GeForce Experience that offers one-click optimisation. Intel's control panel is pretty similar. But you don't need to create an account to use the graphics control panel. The same app will also let you configure your PC's display, download new Intel Graphics drivers, adjust how video is rendered, and offer an overview of your PC's technical specs. For now, the app is only available on the Microsoft Store. But the company intends on bundling it with PCs in the future. The chipmaker also plans on listening to input from gamers and PC enthusiasts on adding new features and changes to Command Center.
