When it comes to Black Friday, there is one undisputed king of the jungle (or should that be, rainforest?). Over the last Black Friday period, Amazon took a 26% share of the total retail industry in the UK. That means over a quarter of the UK’s Black Friday shopping in 2018 was done on the giant online marketplace. Amazon’s share was actually up 3% on the previous year, showing that their Black Friday sales are still growing. We don’t know if this trend will continue, but we are sure that Black Friday is a massive event for Amazon and that the company will be celebrating it in an equally massive way. In fact, Black Friday is an integral part of Amazon’s retail policy and their preparations for it take place year-round. Which means: massive savings and deals for you. When is Amazon’s Black Friday 2019 Date? This year, Black Friday falls on 29th November. Cyber Monday, the other big sales date during the Black Friday period, is on 2nd December. Since Amazon’s Black Friday sales often run across a couple of weeks, we expect them to start mid-November and stop early in December. How to Get the Best Deals from Amazon on Black Friday 2019 If you’re serious about making the most of Amazon’s Black Friday sales, it’s worth signing up to be an Amazon Prime member. Prime members get early and exclusive access to offers like Lightning Deals, which only last for a matter of minutes or hours, and Prime-only deals. An Amazon Prime membership comes with lots of perks, like free delivery (including Same-Day Delivery), exclusive savings, thousands of films and TV shows on Prime Video, eBooks, magazines and comics with Prime Reading, and music streaming with Prime Music. It costs £7.99 a month but you can sign up to a 30-day free trial if you need to test the waters. Students can get a free six-month trial and Amazon Prime Student membership costs just £3.99 a month. As well as Lightning Deals, Amazon run Deals of the Day throughout the Black Friday period. These are exactly as they say on the tin – special offers that expire after 24 hours. Unless you see a Lightning Deal or Deal of the Day offer on a product you want in the run up to Black Friday itself, we recommend holding your horses until 29th November to buy that long-hankered for item, as this is when the big discounts really come out to play.
