Acer has two new additions to its Predator range: the Predator Triton 300 gaming notebook and Predator Triton 500, which sports a 300Hz display. And what good is a new gaming laptop without a $14,000 gaming chair? Announced at IFA in Berlin, the Triton 300 is a lightweight option for PC gamers that runs a 9th Generation Intel i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, and up to 32GB of memory. It also supports two 1TB SSDs, an (up to) 2TB hard drive, and WiFi 6. Its 15.6-inch Full HD display has a 144Hz refresh rate and 3ms overdrive response time for serious gamers. At this point, it will only be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, starting at €1,299. US PC gamers, however, can save up for the revamped Acer Triton 500. The original laptop came out earlier this year, but Acer is now bumping its 15.6-inch display to 300Hz. Its chassis size and weight are the same as the original; it arrives in December for $2,799.99. If you have some money to spare, meanwhile, the next-gen Predator Thronos Air Gaming Chair arrives in Q4 starting at $13,999. Acer has dubbed this gadget—which includes a chair, modular desk and monitor arm—a "gaming cave for hardcore enthusiasts." Teal blue lighting will keep you in the zone. With a new setup in place, gamers can tap into Acer's new eSports social media platform, Planet9, where they can learn from "pro players and skilled gamers." This is done via coaching, where players select a coach based on their game statistics and rating, or "carrying," where gamers play alongside better players. Planet9 will offer data on players' wins, losses, kills, deaths, and items purchased, which will be used to better pair gamers together, and will be a platform for tournaments. Currently, Planet9 is in a closed beta, but it open up on Jan. 30, 2020. Alongside these new devices, Acer has announced a smattering of upgrades to its ConceptD range of laptops; it also updated the Swift 5 and Swift 3 laptops with 10th Generation Intel processors.
