Roku has released an app for the Apple Watch, and it does exactly what you'd expect. Now you can control almost any Roku device from your wrist. The app displays a complete set of controls to change channels, complete voice searches, and find the physical remote. It's basically the same as the iOS and Android apps but scaled down to the Apple Watch. Of course, it's free to download and install. Roku just asks you to log in and sync with your account's Roku device(s). Getting the Roku app isn't difficult. As long as your iPhone has version 6.1.3, it'll automatically appear on your Apple Watch. If automatic installs are turned off, you may need to manually install the Roku app from Apple's App Store. Here's the official list of features: Remote - Control your Roku device directly from Apple Watch. It's the same easy to use remote from the mobile app - just sized for your wrist! Additionally, the circular crown on Apple Watch controls the volume. Launch channels - Quickly launch channels on your TV with one tap of the watch screen. Channels are listed in order of recently launched for your convenience. Voice search - Simply tap the voice icon in the app and say commands like "Launch Hulu," "search for comedies," "switch to HDMI 1" for your Roku TV, and much more. Remote finder - Lost your remote again? Use the Roku app for Apple Watch to signal your Roku remote and it will play an audible chime so you can find it in the couch cushions. Some features are limited, though. Voice search is on newer Roku devices and Roku TV models only. As for remote finder, you'll need a Roku Ultra or one of those Roku TV models. With those few exceptions aside, your Apple Watch is ready for total control of Roku's platform.
