Galido Technology RSS FeedsListen to Audio Slowly by slowly, Apple music is becoming like a social platform. It wants to do more than just help you find music to stream and organize your music into playlists. Most people actually don’t know that they have an Apple Music profile as soon as they set up an Apple ID into the music playing application. Especially after Apple removed Connect from Apple Music at the end of 2018 which was originally built to let fans and their favorite bands interact on a ‘social media’ like platform. But in an effort to keep up with Spotify, Apple lets it’s Apple Music users have profiles, get followers, share playlists and customize usernames just like a normal network. So here’s how to set up and customize your Apple music profile. Launch the Apple Music app on your iPhone or iPad. If you’re using the latest version of the Apple Music app, you’ll see the ‘For you’ button at the bottom of the screen. Tap on it and then tap on the profile icon avatar in the upper right side of the screen. On the next page, tap on ‘See what friends are listening to’ and that will prompt you to get started on ‘Music + Friends’. That’s basically a place to Edit your Apple music profile with a profile picture, Name, and Username! Profile Picture For a profile picture, you can choose to take a photo right there with your iOS device’s camera or choose one from your gallery. Remember that this is a picture that will be publicly visible. So make sure you choose a picture that represents you or your brand well. Profile pictures can be changed; so no pressure in using a make-shift pic on your debut Apple music profile. Name This name appears in the profile when someone looks at your profile. Apple music picks a default name from your Apple ID. Just like their rivals, Spotify, you can change your name on Apple music more than once as you deem fit. People can search for you in the Apple music space using your name. But since multiple people can have the same name, it’s not ideal and that’s why there’s a username. Username The username is a unique identifier for your Apple music profile. Most social media accounts do this to help them and others find you with more precision. When you start using apple music, Apple assigns you a random username it gets from your Apple ID. This is the same thing Spotify does when you register for an account. But unlike their competitors who don’t let you change your username to something other than a string of random characters, Apple Music lets you change your username to something you might like. The closest you’ll get to changing your username on Spotify is creating a new account or connecting your account to Facebook; which is ridiculous. Webpro Education explains it all! When you choose your username, finish creating your Profile by choosing your privacy settings and how or who can follow you and your music on the platform. You’ll have full control of your playlists and library and you can follow other people’s playlists. You’ll also be able to choose the updates you want to be receiving regarding activities from your friends and artists.
