Oppo has announced that its new range of affordable flagship smartphones, the Reno, Reno 10x Zoom, and the Reno 5G, will be available in the UK in June. The Reno is the smallest of the trio, priced at £449, and available on the 5th of June. The Reno 10x Zoom will cost £699 and will be available a week later, on the 12th. The Reno 5G, however, has yet to have a date or a price announced. We do know that, like the OnePlus 7 Pro, it will be released on EE's network. It appears that, much like OnePlus' upcoming 5G phone, many manufacturers have the device ready, but are waiting for 5G networks to become available in the UK. Visually, what makes these phones stand out is the front facing camera, which slides out the top like a shark's fin. On all devices, that will be a 16 megapixel camera unlocking the phone for you. With regard to other specs, the Reno 10x Zoom has a 6.6-inch 1,080 x 2,340 display, with a 48 megapixel primary lens, 8 megapixel ultra-wide and 13 megapixel telephoto lens combination on the back. It will be available in 6GB or 8GB versions with a battery capacity of 4065mAh. The regular Reno, meanwhile, has a 6.4-inch 1,080 x 2,340 screen and a camera made up of a 48 megapixel primary lens and a 5 megapixel secondary lens. That will also be available in 6GB or 8GB versions, but its battery is only 3765mAh. Both devices will be running Google's Android 9.0, with Oppo's own ColorOS software, ColorOS 6, layered on top. Although the Chinese brand has 250 million users worldwide, Oppo's presence in the UK is still somewhat muted - despite the company saying that Oppo 40 of its Android smartphones will be making its way to the UK. It's possible that might change, with the recent concerns about Huawei's security practices, as customers look for other low-cost, high-spec smartphones.
