For mobile contracts terms, 12 months isn’t a long period of time, and this allows you to look elsewhere when your contract is up. Make sure you're happy with your choice before opting into a long contract. If you tend to change your mind easily, it may be better to stick with a 30-day SIM-only plan instead. The length of contract means you’re not locked down for any great period of time, so you can change or cancel if you see fit. There are often plenty of appealing short-term deals out there. Keep an eye on the smaller operators such as giffgaff, VOXI, Smarty, or iD Mobile for good offers. You'll need to make sure your area is covered by 5G, otherwise you'll be paying for a 5G service that will be running on 4G instead. Additionally, if you want to pick up a 5G SIM, make sure you're currently sporting a capable device. What kind of SIM card do I need? Your PAC code is usually three letters and six numbers, and won’t cost you a penny. How reliable are the smaller, less well-known networks? Smaller providers such as Smarty or giffgaff are typically cheaper options as they don’t operate pricey high-street shops or extensive customer service.
