The models were previously sold as Toshiba products, but last year, the company sold off its PC business unit to Sharp, which is owned by Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn. The Dynabook Portege A30 The three new models unveiled on Tuesday have been designed as business laptops. Built with Intel's 8th generation Whiskey Lake processors from last year, they also include support for Wi-Fi 6, which can offer 10Gbps download speeds. The 13.3-inch Portege A30, which starts at $1,074, weighs half a pound less than its predecessor, at 2.65 pounds, and is also about 11 percent thinner, at 0.78 inches. You can buy it with an integrated infrared camera to enable face authentication, and a fingerprint scanner. Dynabook also added a USB-C port to the laptop's hardware, which is encased in a polycarbonate chassis. The products are fitted inside a magnesium alloy chassis, and come with redesigned fan systems for improved, quieter cooling. The X30 weighs 2.3 pounds while the X40 comes in at 2.76 pounds. All three products will come installed with Windows 10 Pro when they arrive next month.
