Among 1,007 respondents, one in five (22.4%) gamers bought their first console this past year. The apparent favorite was the PlayStation line, with nearly 45% of gamers planning to upgrade with the PS5 or PS4 and the PlayStation 5 being far and away the most coveted. The Xbox Series X (17.5%) and Nintendo Switch (9.6%) still made out well. These numbers make sense, since it was PlayStation owners who felt the most pressure to upgrade their system.In the face of the pandemic, the survey showed that 44% of gamers were playing more often in a month than they were before the COVID outbreak.
