pcmag.comIVPanasonic TX-77EZ1002B If you’ve got 20 grand to spare – and enough wall space to fit a 77-inch television – then this super-sized OLED screen from Panasonic is well worth your attention. The state-of-the-art panel provides exceptional picture quality, with deep blacks and vibrant colours. Its borderless design gives it an elegant and minimalist feel too , while the two forward-facing speakers which, at 80W, are no match for a proper surround sound set-up, are worlds apart from the usual tinny speakers that come with flat-screen TVs. LG OLED65W7V If £20k is just too much for your budget, the slightly smaller 65-inch LG OLED might be up your street. It’s a snip at just under £7,000, but for that you get a screen so thin (2.57mm) you can bend it – although we probably wouldn’t recommend it. In fact it’s so thin and light you can attach it to the wall using only magnets. Picture quality is probably the best you’ll get from a 4K TVs, , with punchy colours and superb detail. Since it’s so thin all connections go through a separate unit, plus there’s a sound bar that, although decent for a TV, isn’t quite as good as some other high-end sound bars available. Overall, a TV like no other. Devialet Gold Phantom Satellite Speakers These Bluetooth speakers are as clever on the inside as they are striking from the outside. Considering they’re about the same size as a football, they pack one hell of a punch – 4,500W, or 108 dB/m, to be precise, which is roughly as loud as it gets at a live rock concert. It’s not all about how loud it is either – sound quality is breath-taking and the Devialet Gold Phantom delivers rib-shattering bass and the most precise sonic detail with startling ease. Indeed, they out-perform many speakers twice their size – but you have to pay a premium for the privilege. Devialet 440 Pro Amplifier This is probably the most beautifully designed amp ever conceived, its hand-polished dark chrome case looking more like a work of art than piece of hi-fi equipment. Its dual-mono configuration provides the very best in audio quality, with much less potential for distortion compared to regular amps. It’s got all of the usual connections you’d expect from an amp, but also supports wireless streaming up to 24-bits / 192KHz, so you’re able to stream music in audiophile-grade quality without any digital losses. Grado GS-1000 Grado’s pedigree for manufacturing audiophile-pleasing headphones is unquestionable, and the GS-1000s sound as gorgeous as they look. The wooden air chamber and over-sized foam cups mean these headphone are surprisingly light and therefore comfortable to wear, even though the leather headband offers little in the way of padding. Sound quality is excellent, with dynamic and precise mid-range complimented by beautifully refrained bass. If you want a paid of headphone that catch the eye as much as they treat your ears, look no further. Canon EOS 5D MkVI The latest version of Canon’s flagship DSLR is arguably the most well-rounded and complete cameras on the market. The Mark VI takes photos at 30.4MP, which is the equivalent of 6,720 x 4,480 pixels – or roughly A2 at 300 dpi. Elsewhere, the AF has been improved, sensor performance is excellent and 4K video is now possible – although with not quite as many options as you get if only shooting at 1080p. Dyson 360 Eye Having revolutions the traditional vacuum cleaner market, Dyson has now set its sights on robot vacs with the 360 Eye. As you’d expect, the quality of cleaning is top notch and is powerful enough to properly clean any surface. It’s discreet too: the charging dock sits flush against the wall and is about the same size as a sheet of A4 paper, and the vac itself is surprisingly compact, meaning it can get into space other robot cleaners can’t. It’s a bit taller than its rivals though, so while it’ll easily clean under a bed, it’s unlikely to fit under your sofa. Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer Is any hairdryer really worth £300? That depends on how much you care for your barnet, but one thing’s for sure – Dyson’s Supersonic is definitely one of the best hairdryers ever made. Firstly, is quieter than a traditional hairdryer, plus it dries a lot faster – up to twice as fast - thanks to the concentrated blast that comes from its nozzle. A heat sensor prevents any heat damage to your hair, plus it comes with three magnetic clip-on accessories. Optoma UHD550X Projector A 4K projector has always been at the top of every home cinema enthusiast’s wish list, and this UHD projector delivers vibrant pictures on screen sizes of 100 inches-plus for a remarkably reasonably price tag. Colour reproduction and clarify are both excellent, and while the blacks are deep, unsurprisingly you will find better on considerably more expensive projectors. Input lag is minimal, plus it feature HDR, although the effect is less pronounced than on a high-end TV. Overall, anyone wanting a proper big-screen entertainment experience will be thrilled with the 550X. LG LSR100 Smart Fridge Freezer Our favourite thing about this smart fridge freezer is the glass door – knock twice and the inside light pings on, allowing you to see what’s inside without opening the door and losing the chilled air. You can also program it so that, when you step up to the fridge, the door opens automatically, so you empty your grocery shopping without having to drop the bags and wedge the door open. It also connects to your phone, so you can change the temperature and keep track of what food you need to order without going anywhere near the kitchen.
