pcmag.comAccording to Elon Musk, not everyone working at Tesla has the company's best interests in mind. In fact, one employee is a saboteur and has been carrying out quite extensive sabotage in an attempt to damage the company. As CNBC reports, Musk sent out an email to all employees explaining that one employee had been discovered performing sabotage on Tesla's operations. This included "direct code changes to the Tesla Manufacturing Operating System under false usernames and exporting large amounts of highly sensitive Tesla data to unknown third parties." Apparently the employee in question has already admitted to some of these actions, but the full extent of what he did is still to be determined. Musk also points out he may not be working alone, and his explanation as to why he carried out the sabotage is suspicious. He did so in response to not receiving a promotion, which does seem unbelievable. Musk points to Wall Street short-sellers and oil and gas companies all having an interest in seeing Tesla die. There is currently no evidence suggesting anyone else's involvement, but I'm sure we'll hear about it if and when any is found. For now, Musk asks employees to, "Please be extremely vigilant, particularly over the next few weeks as we ramp up the production rate to 5k/week. This is when outside forces have the strongest motivation to stop us." He also asks for any suspicious behavior to be reported, with a promise that everything will be handled confidentially. That's sure to put employees on edge and possibly viewing more of the day-to-day actions of individuals with a greater amount of suspicion.
