computerworld.com[Disclosure: Microsoft is a client of the author]This is a fascinating fight largely because the Education market, while not lucrative by any stretch of the imagination, is critical to assuring the future for any operating system.  People prefer what they have learned on and firms wishing to employ them find that not having their system of choice reduces significantly that firm’s choice of top talent.  The rarer your skill set the more likely it is the company will accept and embrace your platform choice.  Apple was initially one of the most aggressive in education; but Microsoft displaced them over the last two decades.  More recently, Google’s Chrome has been making impressive inroads into the segment over the last 5 years.  To a considerable extent, Windows 10 S is Microsoft’s latest and best attempt to stop any bleeding.   To read this article in full, please click here...

That's when the door closes as the tour group leaves, and fish turns back for one last look.To read this article in full, please click here...

computerworld.comA company's mobile privacy policy is becoming a really big deal. We already knew that privacy policies are a nice piece of low-hanging fruit for Federal Trade Commission (FTC) investigators to examine, to see whether a company is living up to its own promises - as Snapchat learned the hard way. And the European Union's GDPR requirements - which will kick into effect globally in May - also focus on privacy policies, since they are typically a GDPR regulator's first stop. You remember GDPR? computerworld.comMobile remains a very competitive business, with major smartphone vendors continually trying to outdo one another and consumers often left doubtful that the latest gadget is really something they need to buy.Previous mobile competition was all about having the best displays or the fastest processing.
